“I have ridden in my three Usher saddles since I started barrel racing in 2019 and have never switched or wanted to,” Jennifer says. “My favorite thing is I’ve never had a problem with saddle fitting, which is my biggest concern – especially with how many different sizes, styles, and moving horses I ride.”

While many riders go through multiple saddles and brands before finding the right fit, Jennifer’s story is different. She’s only ever used Usher Brand – and for good reason. Though she’s tried other peoples’ saddles here and there, they just never felt quite right.
“I’ve rode in other people’s barrel saddles and something never feels right for me. I have very long legs and I think the Ushers help me stay back and out of my horses’ way when they go to work.”

A Year of Versatility
This past season was anything but predictable for Jennifer. Instead of sticking with one set string of horses, she found herself jumping on anything she could get under her. One stallion she borrowed, PYC Fast Guy, had previously undergone kissing spine surgery.
Despite his history, Jennifer’s Usher Brand saddle never caused him discomfort. That kind of trust in her tack was critical during a season full of change.
The Wins That Meant the Most
When asked about her favorite win this year, Jennifer didn’t hesitate: Ponoka Stampede. “That would be one of my favorite barrel career wins,” she says. But that wasn’t the only high point. Jennifer also swept the Calgary Stampede qualifier – a huge moment, made even more special because it was aboard her favorite mare, Canyons Moonlight.
“That was one of the coolest things ever,” she shares happily.
CFR 2025: A New Mindset
Coming into the 2025 CFR, Jennifer brought a refreshed mindset – calmer, clearer, and more confident than ever.
“This time I really tried to go run-by-run and not let whatever happened the day before discourage me,” she shares. “The last time I made the CFR, I let one bad run get in my head for the rest of the week, so I didn't let that happen this time.”
