At Usher Brand, we know success in the arena is built on hard work, consistency, and the right equipment. For breakaway roper Rickie Fanning, that means trusting a saddle that performs every time she nods her head.

With a busy 2026 season already underway, you’ll be able to find two horses hitting the road with her this year: Trump and Bua. “Trump is my main one,” she explains. “He’s actually my brother’s horse, but he let me borrow him. Bua will be going on the rodeo trail for the first time, so I’m excited to see him grow.”
Looking ahead to the rest of the season, she’s excited for both new experiences and the familiar rhythm of the rodeo road. “We’re going to Canada for a little bit this year, and I think I’m looking forward to that the most. It’ll be fun to see some new country,” she says. “But, I'm excited for the summer run as well!”
Rickie approaches it all with a focused, intentional game plan. “I’m going to keep the same plan I’ve had the last three years. We try to go on runs where we can hit multiple rodeos, stay the course, and not get caught up in all the rodeos you can go to,” she explains. “We just try to capitalize on the ones we do go to.” Traveling with her sister, fellow Usher Brand athlete Taylor Engesser, helps keep that balance in check. “We don’t like to go so hard that we’re exhausted – we like to enjoy the rodeo trail.”
As the sport continues to evolve, Rickie is proud to be part of its momentum. “Breakaway is an amazing sport,” she says. “So many sponsors, fans, and committees have stepped up to put us in their rodeos with equal added money. It’s fun to see the growth of the sport, and being a part of it is even more exciting.”
Through every mile, every run, and every win, Rickie relies on gear that works as hard as she does – and for her, that means riding in a saddle she knows she can count on.
